How it Works
Solar panels that produce electricity are known as solar photovoltaic (PV) modules. Solar PV panels capture the light from the sun and convert it into the electricity that is used in your home to heat water, power your TV, kettle, toaster, phone charger, radio, oven, and more.
The SEAI Home Energy Grants programme offers grants to help you improve the energy performance of your home through the installation Solar PV. Further information can be found on the SEAI website..

More Information
Got questions about Solar PV, grants, or the retrofit process? We’ve answered some of the most common ones below.
Yes — if your home was built and occupied before 2021, you may qualify for the SEAI Solar PV Grant. The system must be installed by an SEAI-registered contractor, which Solfit is.
Solar PV can reduce your electricity bills by up to 50%, and any excess energy you generate can be sold back to the grid, creating additional savings through the Microgeneration Support Scheme.
Most Solar PV installations are completed within one day, depending on roof access and system size.
Disruption is minimal — panels are installed externally on your roof, and the internal wiring work is completed quickly. You can stay in your home throughout the process.
